Joe immigrated to the United States in 1968, initially finding work as a welder in a factory. It wasn’t long before he and his brothers had raised enough money to start their own American dream and open their very first restaurant. It was a tremendous success; locals couldn’t get enough of their unique, authentic Sicilian taste. Simple ingredients, prepared with care and attention created an instant following. Soon after, Joe decided it was time to venture out on his own finally settling down in beautiful Aledo, Illinois.
If you think you might recognize that one of a kind taste … Joe and his family own or have owned restaurants throughout the state of Illinois, in towns like Geneseo, Beardstown, Havanna, and Jacksonville. But it was in Aledo, Illinois that he introduced the small rural community to an unfamiliar Italian dish called pizza. Joe, who could barely speak English, managed to win the love of his wife of 45 years, Patti. Through the years, Joe and Patti raised three beautiful children and an abundance of grandchildren. During that time, he continued to provide a unique, one of a kind, taste made with love that is only “Joe’s”. With the support of Joe and his family, we proudly bring Joe’s Pizzeria to wonderful Gurnee. We know that Joe’s unique taste treasured by generations will be a favorite of you and your family as it has been for so many others throughout the years.
